The Garden Place
Our Portfolio

A NOTE OF APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:

Although we designed and created many more gardens, we opted to keep our website page at a minimum. However, we do want to thank each and every one of our customers for allowing us to help them achieve their landscape desires. It was our pleasure to design and create your new gardens and we hope you enjoy them in health and in happiness for many years to come.

With sincere thanks,
Deanna and John

This large property needed a landscape to match. We designed a formal style to add to the property's elegance. With magnificient evergreens and stunning Cutleaf Japanese Maples, this property looks good in every season.
This beautiful new Belleville home needed a little help. We added four season interest, easy care shrubs and gave the front entrance a whole new face lift.

Here's a blank canvas - turned into function and style. The shade tree offers relief from the hot sun on the deck and the curves of the gardens add much appeal. Colour in foliage and blooms makes this backyard a lovely place for a family to spend time together.
This lovely bungalow in Belleville needed a functional entrance and curb appeal. We designed a new front walkway and flanked it with stunning plants. The customer now has four season interest and an inviting entrance.
This exquisite home needed a good foundation and elegant plants. The long walk from driveway to front door was "broken" by echoing a portion of the landscape on the opposite side. Well-chosen tree and shrub specimens with beautiful forms and textures, together with appropriate perennials, finished the look. The property value has increased and the home is now stunning.
The present landscape was tight against the house, causing the property to seem diminished. We opened up the walkway, added curves and interest with definite curb appeal.
The backyard of this Napanee home just had a beautiful patio installed, but the small rectangular beds did not add to its value. We created a landscape to soften the lines and balance out the patio. The large Japanese Maple stole the show and the Ivory Silk Lilac Tree, which flowers in summer, provides lovely fragrance near the sitting area on the upper deck.
The raised beds and walkway had good "bones", the garden just needed a little help. The Rose of Sharon and a Yew were in good condition, so we kept them. Beautiful tree-form Hydrangeas, Roses and grasses were added, and only a few more evergreens were needed. A stone bird bath, as a focal point, was placed to emphasize the shape of the garden, and edged with draping red Wave Petunias. Black mulch was appropriate here, and the home now looks beautifully finished.
This family backyard in Colborne needed to do double duty - a place for parents to relax, and lots of lawn nearby where the kids can play, all the while creating an inviting area for all to enjoy. Also some privacy was needed on the west side.
There was a large expanse of dandelions greeting guests coming up the driveway. To keep costs down, we chose to create an island bed, which can also be viewed from the customer's backyard. The customer loved Birches and a taste of country style, so we brought out the white of the Birch trunks with a white wishing well. Now it is enjoyed by the owner and guests feel welcome.
The customer wanted elegance, and this style certainly would compliment the house. Stunningly shaped evergreens make it look stately and add much curb appeal.
This recently built classic home needed an appropriate landscape to match. The columnar Hornbeams, colourful Maples and topiary evergreens added substance. Stunning foliage shrubs and grasses complimented them further, and annuals were added for some extra colour. All year interest makes this home valuable.
This beautiful model home was in need of a mature landscape. We designed large, curved beds to flank the entrance and continue the flow to the backyard. Elegant seating and appropriate plantings pulled the whole look together.
This shady backyard was not being used. The customer wanted to keep the privacy, but have a lovely garden to look at from the deck. We removed the overgrown Lilacs and created a clear separation of garden and lawn. A lovely arbour and bird bath were added as focal points, and appropriate plant material for shade conditions was installed. Now the customer enjoys the outside of her home and has "reclaimed" her property!
The corner of this backyard, at the far end of the pool, was a dead zone and unsightly, plus further privacy was required from the neighbours. Needing a large focal point, we chose a fantastic walking bridge. Creating a "stream" under it and flanking it with bright Celosia accented it further, and shade-tolerant Hydrangeas were planted en masse for effect. Newport Plums were strategically positioned and added more colour to the area. What a great transformation!
The new brickwork on this lovely home needed a garden to match. We wanted to accent the hardscapes, secure a foundation planting and add colour. Canadian Hemlocks for a shady area were appropriate choices as the main attraction, giving the area height and substance. A tree form Hydrangea and well behaved Boxwood added further interest, as did the foliage of Heuchera, Hosta, Impatiens and grasses. The front entrance is now absolutely stunning!
This grand property needed a grand landscape. A formal tone was used with exquisitely shaped topiaries, along with statuary. Larger specimens were chosen to balance the size of the building, and appropriate perennials to accent them were added. Edged with low growing Boxwood, this property is now very elegant!
